Welcare Hospital’s Accident & Emergency Department operates around the clock and is supported by 12 special beds, a dedicated operation theatre and a state-of-the-art Ambulance Service.

The Accident & Emergency Department provides initial treatment to patients with a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries, some of which may be life-threatening and requiring immediate attention.

Upon arrival in the A&E, our patients undergo a brief triage to help determine the nature and severity of their illness. Individuals with serious illnesses are then seen by a physician more rapidly than those with less severe symptoms or injuries. After initial assessment and treatment, patients are either admitted to the hospital or discharged.

The staff in emergency departments not only includes doctors and nurses with specialized training in emergency medicine but in house emergency medical technicians, radiology technicians, emergency responders, ambulance paramedics and other support staff who all work as a team to treat emergency cases.
