There is restricted entry for visitors to the ICU. The ICU head nurse will inform you of this policy.

Where do I come on the day of admission?
For overnight cases you are requested to report to the admission's office in the in-patient area at the time indicated on your booking form. For day cases you are required to report to the day care unit in the in-patient area.
|
What does the admission procedure involve?
For overnight cases, you are required to settle an admission deposit at the in-patient cashier and sign the admission form. Our Patient Relations Executive will explain the admission policies and procedures, and then you will be escorted to your allocated room.
|
Are there any financial formalities to be completed before admission?
To avoid any financial misinterpretation, prior to your admission, your treating doctor can provide a cost estimate for your hospital stay. This will be an approximate estimate and the final bill may vary from this amount. Depending on the type of service (surgery etc.) your deposit can be raised to cover the cost of your treatment.
How do I know if my insurance company has approved my in-patient stay?
It is very important that you identify your insurance corporate company at the time of booking your surgery. This is to allow enough time for processing your claim. Within a day or two after requesting for approval, your admitting doctor or nurse will inform you of the result (approved or denied). The insurance coordinator or the inpatient cashier can help you understand your insurance benefit prior to your admission and will gladly explain any policies you are unsure about.

What are the charges for in-patient consultation?
The admitting consultant visits will be charged per visit, depending on specialist/consultant attending. If you are admitted under a community based specialist, we recommend that you discuss this fee with your treating doctor.
What are the attendant charges?
Should a friend or family member wish to stay overnight, a sofa-cum-bed is available at an additional cost of 150 AED per day. Attendants are not allowed to stay overnight in the twin sharing rooms, as there is no provision made. However, this charge is waived in case the patient is 12 years of age or below. Food and beverages, other than the patient's therapeutic diet will be served at an additional cost.
Are their any surcharges on the telephone bill?
Local calls can be made free of cost, whereas calls between the emirates, mobile, and international calls are added to your hospital bill with a surcharge.
What is provided by the hospital during my stay?
Therapeutic diet for the patient
Hospital gowns
Baby clothes
Basic toiletries (tooth brush, soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels)
Reading material (daily newspapers, magazines)
Neonatal top feeds (if required)
Meals for your attendants (at an additional cost)
We encourage you to bring along any items that will enhance the comfort of your stay: your personal sleepwear, robes, slippers, reading and writing material, personal toiletries, hair care, and for our maternity patients an outfit and a receiving blanket for the baby on the day of discharge and a photo camera.
Do refrain from bringing valuable items, as the hospital will not be responsible for stolen or missing items. Alternatively, you can deposit your valuables with the Security Department free of charge and recollect them upon your discharge. You should receive a receipt which should be kept in a safe area or with a relative. Kindly inform your nurse to make the proper arrangements.
What are the discharge formalities?
Once the treating doctor confirms that the patient is fit for discharge, different departments work together the discharge process. This normally takes around 2 hours. When planning to depart, we request you and your family to please allow enough time for us to complete these formalities.
What are the modes of payment?
We accept cash and all major credit cards. Personal cheques can also be accepted with proper identification.
How do I make an appointment for a follow up consultation?
An appointment card bearing the time of your out patient follow up visit will be given to you upon discharge along with your medications and discharge card.
