The Department of Neurology treats a wide range of neurological diseases such as headaches, epilepsy, stroke, CNS infections, demyelinating diseases, neuromuscular disorders, Neuro degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease, as well as evaluations of dizziness, back pain, neck pain and other common Neurological disorders.

The department of Neurology is one of the main reference centers for most neurological cases in Dubai.


The clinical neurophysiology unit covers a wide range of services including:

	Electroencephalography
	EEG video monitoring
	Nerve conduction studies
	Electromyography
	Repetitive nerve stimulation
	Visually evoked potentials
	Brainstem auditory evoked potentials
	Somatosensory evoked potentials

Muscle and nerve biopsies are currently performed in our hospital and processed in our reference laboratory in Germany for:

	Enzyme histochemistry and routine histology
	Immuno cytochemistry
	Electron microscopy

Molecular genetic studies are available through our reference laboratories.


Most NeuroSurgical problems are successfully treated at the Welcare Hospital through our association with several highly qualified Neurosurgeons.
